The PotatoEelters

A theatrical ode to the poor, honest farmer

  • Took place in September 2013
Paleis-Raadhuis van Willem II en De Klein Engelandhoeve

EELT Theatercollectief created this ode to Vincent van Gogh. The potato took center stage, as historically this was the food of the people. The audience was in for a surprise as the current food of the people also made an appearance: the potato chip.
The spirit of Van Gogh was present in the fragments from his letters. The audience also created part of the show, and saw Van Gogh’s early work “the potato eaters” being recreated in front of their eyes. And thus potatoes and theatre breathe new live into Vincent van Gogh’s talents, right here in Tilburg.

“Poëtische producties over die dingen in het leven waarvan we 'eelt op onze ziel' krijgen of juist kwijtraken.”
