Transforming a creative idea into an artistic project is not easy. Especially when you are doing it on your own from your attic room. Together we know more! Come to the Creative Saloons, be inspired and help others to take the next step! The Creative Saloons of EELT is where established and new creative professionals and professionals of other relevant domains join for constructive conversation to help and inspire each other. The established professionals leave refreshed and inspired by all the young creativity that they encountered.

Artistic cowboys
In the Creative Saloons the shadowy, sophisticated and artistic French salons meet the provocative, cheeky cowboys from the Wild West saloon. EELT will organize several saloons in 2022 and 2023. Each saloon features its own relevant creative theme. The next saloon will be November 15.

Saloon 2: Building Bridges

How do you connect people with your organisation? How do you motivate them to contribute actively, participate or think along? Wether you are reaching out to amatures, vulnerable people or local recidents, in the end it is all about the connection. But, how do you do that?

This creative saloon is all about connecting.

And, it is about you and your ideas. Do you have a question, idea or creative project that is itching your brain? Then our Creative Saloon is for you.  EELT invites artists, creative experts and new talents to meet and to connect at our Creative Saloon around the theme ‘Building Bridges’.

This saloon was held on February 28.

Speaker Marcel de Buck

The second creative saloon was about building bridges and connecting with each other. How does our speaker, photographer and teacher, Marcel de Buck do that? “When I photograph people, I first engage in a conversation with them. “Their vulnerability, what occupies them, their loneliness; it makes me curious. We share an experience in that moment, and that is what I try to capture.”

Play with boundaries
For instance, Marcel takes photo’s for care institutions, on location, and prints the pictures on site. “The question is how my work can improve the wellbeing of people. What can art contribute? In my case, I do photography, but the scope is wider; think for instance about theater and design. The best part of my work for me is to play with boundaries. I like to challenge and provoke. I think the world should know about what is going on, and that is what I portray in my work. I like to do that in long term projects, because I want to let things sink in, mull over them and then react. That is what works for me.”

Creative Thinking session

After the speakers the main activity starts: the Creative Thinking session. It is your turn to share and shine in an intimate saloon-like setting with about three fellow creatives around a (non-smokey) table. You are offered the opportunity to present your own idea, question or practice to creative people with a different point of view than your own. Or you can work on a previously presented idea.

Insights
In this manner, your project will be enriched with their insights and your insights will enrich the concepts of others . Together you give the central theme of the Creative Saloon a new perspective.

Present your idea

Do you want to bring your own project idea/question to share with the group? Do you want to meet other creative brains with surprising ideas? Or do you just want to participate as a feedforwarding creative brain? Send an email with a short description of your idea, project in the make or question to VitĂłria Aquino.
