Saloon 2: Building Bridges
How do you connect people with your organisation? How do you motivate them to contribute actively, participate or think along? Wether you are reaching out to amatures, vulnerable people or local recidents, in the end it is all about the connection. But, how do you do that?
This creative saloon is all about connecting.
And, it is about you and your ideas. Do you have a question, idea or creative project that is itching your brain? Then our Creative Saloon is for you. EELT invites artists, creative experts and new talents to meet and to connect at our Creative Saloon around the theme âBuilding Bridgesâ.
This saloon was held on February 28.
Speaker Marcel de Buck
The second creative saloon was about building bridges and connecting with each other. How does our speaker, photographer and teacher, Marcel de Buck do that? âWhen I photograph people, I first engage in a conversation with them. âTheir vulnerability, what occupies them, their loneliness; it makes me curious. We share an experience in that moment, and that is what I try to capture.â
Play with boundariesÂ
For instance, Marcel takes photoâs for care institutions, on location, and prints the pictures on site. âThe question is how my work can improve the wellbeing of people. What can art contribute? In my case, I do photography, but the scope is wider; think for instance about theater and design. The best part of my work for me is to play with boundaries. I like to challenge and provoke. I think the world should know about what is going on, and that is what I portray in my work. I like to do that in long term projects, because I want to let things sink in, mull over them and then react. That is what works for me.â
Creative Thinking session
After the speakers the main activity starts: the Creative Thinking session. It is your turn to share and shine in an intimate saloon-like setting with about three fellow creatives around a (non-smokey) table. You are offered the opportunity to present your own idea, question or practice to creative people with a different point of view than your own. Or you can work on a previously presented idea.
InsightsÂ
In this manner, your project will be enriched with their insights and your insights will enrich the concepts of others . Together you give the central theme of the Creative Saloon a new perspective.
Present your idea
